Make sure you get plenty of starch and protein into you in the first 8 weeks. Have loads of vegetables and fruit throughout, they all help the baby grow with natural vitamins and minerals.

You are going to need plenty of extra calcium and protein, so stock up on those dairy products. Get plenty of greens into you too.

Eggs, broccoli, sweet potato and plenty of lean meat are good in the diet when you’re pregnant. Just don’t stuff yourself with junk food – you are what you eat, or your baby will be!

Plenty of fruit and veg. Oranges are great in pregnancy, as are mangoes and avocados if you can get your hands on them in season. Spinach, chicken
